When you first add a 2-Factor Authentication to your BitMEX account you will be given a code that you should write down. In a scenario where you no longer have access to your original 2FA device, you will be able to restore it using this code.
Note: if you did not write down this code and you no longer have access to your 2FA device, you will need to contact support@bitmex.com to begin the 2FA disabling process.
Here you will see a 16-digit code above the QR code which you should write down somewhere safe where only you have access (ideally in an offline location).
Re-adding 2FA to your new device
If you have this code written down and need to restore your 2FA device, you can do the following:
Google Authenticator:
1. Tap Add account (the plus icon in the bottom right corner)
2. Tap “Enter a setup key”
3. Enter an account name e.g “BitMEX” and the 16-digit code you noted down when you first added 2FA to your BitMEX account
4. Tap “Add”

1. Tap Add account
2. Tap “Enter key manually” at the very bottom of the page
3. Enter the 16-digit code you noted down when you first added 2FA to your BitMEX account and tap “Save”

Now that you have restored your 2FA device, you can simply log into BitMEX using your email address, password and the new 2FA codes generated by your 2FA device.
