Why is my account restricted?

Why your account is restricted depends on the type of restriction you're experiencing. Please see the table below for possible options, reasons, and solutions. 

Restriction Type Reason Solution
Restricted Jurisdiction (Includes Order Ban) You've accessed your account from a Restricted Jurisdiction or indicated you're from a Restricted Jurisdiction.  Reach out to Support if you believe you were falsely flagged
Account Disabled You've requested to close your account Reach out to Support to get it re-enabled 
You've violated our Terms and therefore your account has been closed Reach out to Support for further questions 
Chat Banned You violated the Trollbox Rules and an Admin temporarily or permanently banned you Reach out to Support to request the ban to be lifted
You're unverified  Complete the verification at https://www.bitmex.com/get-started/ 
Withdrawal Banned You have a temporary withdrawal ban due to security reasons Wait the required time for the ban to be lifted. See Why do I have a withdrawal ban? for more details
You don't have 2FA enabled & 2FA is mandatory for withdrawal.  Follow How do I enable 2FA? to set up your 2FA. Once you've done so, you'll have a temporary withdrawal ban for 24 hours.

API Ban You violated the Quote Value Ratio Threshold.

You violated our Rate Limits

If it's a single ban, the ban on your IP Address will be lifted in an hour. Multiple bans in a short time will result in a weeklong ban.
