Get Started with Crypto Trading Bots: BitMEX & ProfitView (Webinar)

BitMEX, in partnership with ProfitView, hosted a webinar to introduce users to the exciting world of crypto derivatives trading bots. This session, Getting Started with Trading Bots, aimed to equip attendees with the knowledge and practical skills needed to begin automated crypto trading, focusing on setting up and running a basic grid bot on the BitMEX platform using ProfitView. Participants received a starting code framework to further develop and refine their own trading strategies after the session.

The webinar provided a comprehensive overview of essential crypto trading bot concepts:

  • Trading Fundamentals: An introduction to the core principles of trading.
  • Signal Concepts: Understanding the role of trading signals.
  • ProfitView Infrastructure: An overview of ProfitView's bot infrastructure.
  • Bot Types: Exploration of different types of trading bots.
  • Market Regimes: The relationship between market regimes and trading algorithms.
  • Grid Bots: A detailed explanation of grid bots as a fundamental bot type.

Following this theoretical foundation, there was a live demonstration of a grid trading bot in action on BitMEX, showcasing the practical application of automated trading.

 

Setting Up Your Own Bot

The webinar also included a practical guide to setting up a crypto trading bot:

  • API Key Configuration: Step-by-step instructions on setting up API keys on both BitMEX and ProfitView.
  • Code Implementation: A live demonstration of implementing the code required for trading bots.

 

Q&A Session

The webinar concluded with an interactive Q&A session where attendees explored a range of topics, including:

  • Bot adaptation to market volatility.
  • ProfitView's integration with external libraries.
  • The advantages of using ProfitView and BitMEX.
