Does the Travel Rule Apply to All BitMEX Withdrawal Methods?

Yes. Travel Rule requirements apply to all BitMEX withdrawal interfaces, specifically the web platform, mobile app, and API. Regardless of which method you use to initiate a withdrawal, you must provide the required Travel Rule information.

 

Which BitMEX withdrawal interfaces are subject to Travel Rule requirements?

All BitMEX withdrawal methods are subject to Travel Rule requirements. The three primary withdrawal interfaces are:

  • Web platform: When initiating a withdrawal through the BitMEX website, you will be prompted to enter wallet type, exchange name (if applicable), and beneficiary details for third-party transfers. You must complete these fields before the withdrawal can be submitted for processing.
  • Mobile app: The BitMEX mobile app follows the same Travel Rule workflow as the web platform. 

API: Traders who use the BitMEX API for programmatic withdrawals must include the required Travel Rule parameters in their withdrawal requests. For detailed technical guidance, refer to the BitMEX API blog post.

HDR may, in its sole discretion, implement controls to restrict access to the BitMEX trading platform in any of the Restricted Jurisdictions.
