Yes. TradingView offers a Paper Trading feature that simulates real market conditions without risking actual money. Access Paper Trading from the Trading Panel at the bottom of the chart or the ‘Trade’ button at the top right corner. Then select Paper Trading by TradingView, and click Connect to begin practising.
To set up Paper Trading:
- On the TradingView platform, click on the Trading Panel at the bottom of the chart or the Trade button at the top right corner.
- Select Paper Trading and click Connect.
Once connected, TradingView assigns a simulated account balance that you can use to place practice orders. You can submit market orders, limit orders, and stop orders just as you would with a live broker connection. Each simulated trade appears in the Trading Panel alongside position details, unrealised profit-and-loss figures, and order history, giving you a realistic view of how your strategy performs against live price movements.
Paper Trading does not require a BitMEX account, as the simulation runs entirely within TradingView. However, traders should be aware that simulated fills may differ from live execution because Paper Trading does not account for factors such as slippage, partial fills, or liquidity depth. After gaining confidence with Paper Trading, you can connect your BitMEX account to TradingView and transition to live trading using the same interface and chart setup you practised with.
