Do I need to go through KYC to buy crypto via Mercuryo On-Ramp service?

The KYC requirements depend on the transaction amount. No KYC is required for transactions below 700 EUR. For purchases over 700 EUR, seamless KYC sharing between BitMEX and Mercuryo means your existing BitMEX verification is automatically recognised, so you do not need to repeat the process. 

 

What are the KYC requirements for Mercuryo purchases on BitMEX?

The KYC requirements depend on the transaction amount:

  • Below 700 EUR  – You are not required to go through KYC. You can complete your purchase without any identity verification.
  • Over 700EUR – Seamless KYC sharing between BitMEX and Mercuryo takes effect. Your existing BitMEX verification is automatically recognised by Mercuryo, allowing you to make larger purchases without needing to redo the KYC process.

This means verified BitMEX users can purchase crypto at any amount without additional verification steps. The 700 EUR threshold determines whether any KYC is needed at all, not whether you must verify a second time.
