How Much Do I Need to Start Copy Trading on BitMEX?

The minimum deposit to begin Copy Trading on BitMEX is 100 USDT or the equivalent in BTC or BMEX. This threshold applies equally to Copier accounts and Copy Leader accounts.

You must allocate at least 100 USDT to each Copy Leader you wish to follow. If you copy five leaders simultaneously (the maximum), you need a minimum of 500 USDT in total.

BitMEX may adjust this minimum in the future based on user feedback. Check the Copy Trading marketplace for the current requirement.

Do I need to hold USDT specifically?

No. You may fund your Copy Trading with USDT, BMEX, and BTC. Ensure your BitMEX account holds sufficient funds before selecting a Copy Leader.

Can I add more funds after starting?

You can increase your funding allocation to a Copy Leader at any time. Navigate to your Copy Trading Details dashboard to adjust the amount. The additional funds are transferred automatically from your main account.

If it is determined that any BitMEX user has given false representations as to their location, incorporation, establishment, citizenship or residence, or HDR detects a user is from a Restricted Jurisdiction as described above, HDR reserves the right to immediately close their accounts and liquidate any open positions. HDR may, in its sole discretion, implement controls to restrict access to the BitMEX trading platform in any of the Restricted Jurisdictions.
