Can Copy Trading stop automatically?
Yes. Copy Trading may stop automatically in two scenarios:
- Copy Leader liquidation – if the Copy Leader’s position is liquidated, the associated Copier positions are also affected
- Copier liquidation – if your own Copier position is liquidated, Copy Trading stops for that leader
For more details on why Copy Trading might stop, refer to the dedicated article on Copy Trading stopping.
What happens to profit share when I stop?
Profit share is automatically settled when you stop copying a leader and all positions are closed. If your copied trades generated realised profits, the profit share percentage set by the Copy Leader is deducted at that point. If there were no profits, no profit share applies.
Is stopping Copy Trading the same as setting a Stop Loss?
No. A complete stop to Copy Trading closes all positions and ends the copying relationship with that leader. Setting a Stop Loss is a risk management control that overrides a Copy Leader’s trades at a specific threshold but does not end the copying arrangement.
You can use Stop Loss and Take Profit settings to manage risk while continuing to follow a Copy Leader. Stopping Copy Trading is a final action that terminates the relationship entirely.
