BitMEX may require this information from some customers to comply with applicable Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and to understand the nature of the assets used in your trading activity.
What are Source of Wealth (SoW) and Source of Funds (SoF)?
Source of Wealth (SoW): This refers to the origin of your total owned assets (your overall wealth). It identifies the major activities that have generated the majority of your assets.
Examples of SoW: Salary from employment, business profits, inheritance, or successful investments.
Source of Funds (SoF): This refers to the origin of the specific crypto funds you intend to deposit or have deposited into your BitMEX account.
Examples of SoF: SoF is the activity that generated the funds, not just the bank account or wallet used for the transfer. For instance, the funds may come from income, inheritance, or proceeds from another crypto exchange.
