A trading chart is a visual representation of price movements for a specific asset over a given period. It provides you with valuable information to analyse market trends and make informed trading decisions. It also lets you visualise your current positions and open orders.
Key Components of a Trading Chart
-
Price Display: The chart displays the Last Price of the specific asset. This is the most recent price at which the asset was traded. Note that liquidations are based on the Mark Price, which is not visible on this chart.
-
Time Interval: The chart is divided into time intervals, such as minutes, hours, days, or weeks. Each interval represents a specific period, and the price movements within that period are displayed on the chart.
-
Candlesticks: The most common way to represent price movements is through candlesticks. Each candlestick shows the opening price, closing price, highest price, and lowest price within a specific time interval.
-
Volume Indicator: A volume indicator is often displayed at the bottom of the chart. It shows the amount of the asset that was traded during each time interval.
