What is the difference between BitMEX Copy Leaders and Hyperliquid Leaders?

BitMEX Copy Leaders trade directly on BitMEX. Hyperliquid Leaders trade on the Hyperliquid decentralised exchange. Both types are available for copy trading through the BitMEX Copy Trading Marketplace. The core difference is where the leader executes their trades. For Copiers, the experience is the same: trades replicate automatically in your BitMEX account regardless of leader type.

Where Does Each Leader Type Execute Their Trades?

The fundamental difference is the trading venue. BitMEX Copy Leaders execute their trades directly on BitMEX. Hyperliquid Leaders execute their trades on the Hyperliquid decentralised exchange. In both cases, your copied trades execute on BitMEX.

BitMEX Copy Leaders are experienced traders who trade on BitMEX and have applied to become Copy Leaders through BitMEX. Their trades are executed and settled on BitMEX. They have access to all BitMEX products, including crypto perpetuals, equity perps, and other instruments. Their performance data comes from BitMEX trading history.

Hyperliquid Leaders are traders whose activity BitMEX monitors on the Hyperliquid blockchain. They are identified by their Hyperliquid wallet addresses. Their trading history is recorded on-chain and is publicly verifiable. They trade Hyperliquid’s perpetual markets. BitMEX replicates their on-chain positions into your BitMEX account.

For you as a Copier, the copy trading experience is the same for both leader types. You use the same interface, set the same risk parameters (Stop Loss, Take Profit), and manage positions through the same Copy Trading Details panel. Trades replicate automatically in your BitMEX account regardless of whether the leader trades on BitMEX or Hyperliquid.

Can You Copy Both Types of Leaders Simultaneously?

Yes. You can copy up to five leaders simultaneously, and these can be any combination of BitMEX Copy Leaders and Hyperliquid Leaders. This allows you to diversify across both centralised and decentralised trading strategies from a single BitMEX account.

For example, you could allocate capital to two BitMEX Copy Leaders trading equity perps and three Hyperliquid Leaders trading crypto perpetuals. Each copy operates independently in its own Copy Trading Sub Account.

This website is operated by HDR Global Trading Limited, a company incorporated under the International Business Companies Act of 1994 of the Republic of Seychelles with a company number of 148707 and registered address at Global Gateway 8, Rue de la Perle, Providence Mahé, Seychelles (“HDR”). HDR wholly owns BitMEX, a Bitcoin-based trading platform.

Access to trading or holding positions on BitMEX is prohibited for any person or entity that is located, incorporated or otherwise established in, or a citizen or a resident of: (i) the United States of America, Québec (Canada), the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Seychelles, Bermuda, Cuba, Crimea and Sevastopol, Iran, Syria, North Korea or Sudan; (ii) any state, country or other jurisdiction that is embargoed by the United States of America; or (iii) any other jurisdiction where the services offered by BitMEX are restricted (collectively “Restricted Jurisdictions”). If it is determined that any BitMEX user has given false representations as to their location, incorporation, establishment, citizenship or residence, or HDR detects a user is from a Restricted Jurisdiction as described above, HDR reserves the right to immediately close their accounts and liquidate any open positions. HDR may, in its sole discretion, implement controls to restrict access to the BitMEX trading platform in any of the Restricted Jurisdictions.
