What do I need to provide during the verification?

If you want to complete the verification in a personal capacity (i.e. not as a Corporate entity), you will be asked to:

  1. Provide a Photo ID
  2. Provide a Proof of Address document
  3. Record a video
  4. Answer a few multiple-choice questions about your source of funds and trading experience

Recommendations and Requirements

We recommend that you use a mobile device to go through this process as it is easier and the image quality is usually better. 

All images should be in colour, in focus, and contain one ID document/face, without any object or framing obscuring or cutting off any part of the subject. For more details on this, please see:

If it is determined that any BitMEX user has given false representations as to their location, incorporation, establishment, citizenship or residence, or HDR detects a user is from a Restricted Jurisdiction as described above, HDR reserves the right to immediately close their accounts and liquidate any open positions. HDR may, in its sole discretion, implement controls to restrict access to the BitMEX trading platform in any of the Restricted Jurisdictions.
