Following the exchange closure, processing times for withdrawals have moved from immediate to regular batches.
The Full Withdrawal Timeline
Once you submit your withdrawal request and confirm the destination address, your funds will follow this timeline:
- Review: After you verify your request via the email confirmation link, our team manually reviews and approves the withdrawal. The review process usually takes a day, but can take up to 14 days to complete.
- Test Transaction: Once your withdrawal is approved, our system processes and broadcasts a small test transaction to your destination address.
- The 7-Day Security Hold: As soon as your test transaction is successfully confirmed on the blockchain, a mandatory 7-day security hold automatically begins. This is an essential security measure for the wind-down process and cannot be bypassed.
- Final Processing (Daily Batch Cycles): Once the 7-day hold expires, your remaining balance will be sent out in the next daily batch run.
Internal Processing vs. Network Times
Please note that the timeline above refers strictly to BitMEX's internal processing and batch schedules. Once we broadcast the test transaction or the final transaction to the blockchain, the time it takes to arrive in your wallet depends entirely on the respective network's confirmation speed (this can vary greatly during periods of high congestion, particularly for Bitcoin).
When to Contact Support
Our team will need to investigate your transaction if you experience either of the following delays:
- Your withdrawal doesn't get approved within 14 days of submitting the request.
- You do not receive the test transaction in your wallet within 48 hours of your withdrawal being approved.
- You do not receive your final balance in your wallet within 48 hours of your 7-day security hold expiring.
If either of these apply to you, please submit a ticket so we can investigate the delay.
